Get ready to tee it up for the season and make sure you have everything you need for the course.
Golf season is upon us and ready for you to take a swing, especially now that the weather is perfect for a game on the green.
No matter if you’re new to the golfing world, a seasoned player or need some golf gift ideas we spoke with professional golfer Emma Talley of the LPGA tour to discover how to find the best golf equipment that’s right for you (and added some favorites of our own, too) .
Before you grab your caddy and go, check out the list and tips below to make sure you have all the needed equipment and accessories to keep you under par and having fun. From the latest clubs and attire to the best golf balls, tees and trackers, we’ll have you swinging into the golf season in no time.
How to find the right golf equipment
There is no one size fits all when it comes to golf equipment and as Talley puts it you should find “something that fits you personally!” One of the best ways to achieve this, according to her is to “find someone you trust and go searching” for equipment together.
One of the most common mistakes she finds people make when picking out golf equipment for themselves is looking at the exact products the pros use.
“Often you see [people] just get what the pros get,” Talley said. “However, most amateurs need something more forgiving than the professionals. Don’t be scared to make it easier on yourself!”
Determining the right golf clubs, according to a pro
This comes down to personal preference. With most golf equipment, it may take testing out a few different brands before determining what works best for you. Talley points out two specific characteristics to keep an eye on when trying ones out.
“In many cases the shaft is most important and the club head needs to be something that you like,” she said. “The shaft needs to fit your age, body type and strength.”
