Everyone! Please welcome Olivia Marie, Ava Lane, Hazel Grace, Parker Kate and Riley Paige Busby — a brand new set of quintuplets, born this month in Texas.
Danielle and Adam Busby’s five babies were born April 8 via Cesarean section at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston, according to a news release announcing the birth. They are the first all-girl set of quints in the world since 1969, according to the hospital.
I know. Quints.
(!!!!!!!!)
FIVE. BABIES.
“The baby girls did well during the delivery and are currently requiring only modest support of their breathing,” Jayne Finkowski-Rivera, the hospital’s NICU medical director, said in a statement. “They were all in the appropriate weight range for their gestational age, which is due to their mother’s excellent efforts to have the healthiest pregnancy possible. They have made a strong start in life, and we are excited to watch them grow and mature.”

Very cool, right? I look forward to the eventual Busby basketball team, and/or teen band. And I very much hope that Danielle and Adam Busby enjoyed that line, because I kind of suspect they will be hearing it for the next decade or so.

“We are so thankful and blessed,” Danielle Busby said in the release. “And I honestly give all the credit to my God. I am so thankful for this wonderful hospital and team of people here, they truly all are amazing.”

All five babies were delivered in about four minutes, according to the hospital.
According to NBC affiliate KAGS:
Dr. Jayne Finkowski-Rivera, who was on the team who helped deliver the girls, said they could go home when they’re around 36-38 weeks, or when they’re full-term babies. …
“We treated every baby as an individual, everybody had their own team and everyone was taken care of,” Finkowski-Rivera said.
The girls join big sister Blayke, who got to meet her siblings at the hospital.

“She hasn’t really asked many questions,” Danielle Busby said in a video posted on the family’s blog. “We try to talk to her about it, you know, ‘What do you think of them?,’ just whatever. She doesn’t really say much, so I think it’s just going to take a little bit of time to really get her to grasp these are her sisters. These are your five sisters that were in Mom’s belly.
“So it’s going to be a little bit hard to get her to understand all that. But she’s doing good. And we couldn’t be more proud of her, and honestly all the babies.”
