He is not only known as a solo artist, particularly proficient as a guitarist, but also as a member of such groups as CPR, The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Jefferson Airplane. During his career as a musician, David was twice been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

So how rich is David Crosby? Sources have estimated that Crosby’s net worth is $40 million, accumulated from his successful career as a singer, songwriter and guitarist which began back in the early 60s.

David Crosby Net Worth $40 Million

David studied drama at Santa Barbara City College but decided to drop out, as he decided that he wanted be a musician. David’s professional solo career started in 1963 – he had previously played in college – when he released a solo album with the help of Jim Dickson. Soon after, David joined the group called The Byrds, and this group released such hits as Eight Miles High, Hey Joe, Why and others. The success of these songs had a huge impact on David Crosby’s net worth.

Unfortunately, because of some misunderstandings, David left The Byrds and later got together with Graham Nash, Stephen Stills and occasionally Neil Young to form Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, also known as CSNY. The group released eight albums: Looking Forward, After the Storm, Live it Up, American Dream, CSN, Daylight Again, Déjà vu and Crosby, Stills & Nash. These of course added considerably to David’s net worth.

In addition to Crosby’s performances in different bands, he has also been successful as a solo artist. However, while working on his own albums he has also collaborated with such musicians as Phil Collins, David Gilmour, Jackson Browne, James Taylor and many others. David has released seven albums during his solo career: Oh Yes I Can, If I Could Only Remember My Name, Thousand Roads, Croz, King Biscuit Flower Hour, It’s All Coming Back To Me Now and Voyage Box Set. The success of these albums certainly affected the growth of David Crosby’s net worth.

What is more, Crosby is not only a successful musician, but he also has appeared in several movies and television shows, which have also added to David’s net worth. The shows and movies in which Crosby has appeared include “Roseanne”, “The John Larroquette Show”, “Ellen”, “Bacldraft”, “Hook and Thunderheart”. It could be said that Crosby is one of the most successful musicians, what is more, he also writes songs and appears on different television shows. Crosby still continues to perform solo or with his former band mates, and it will probably make David Crosby’s net worth even higher than it is now.

David Crosby has led quite a colourful personal life, including long-term relationships with Christine Hinton, Debbie Donovan, and Joni Mitchell. Crosby has three other children: a daughter, Erika, with Jackie Guthrie, a daughter, Donovan Crosby, with former girlfriend Debbie Donovan, and a son, Django Crosby, who was conceived with wife Jan Dance(m 1987) after extensive fertility treatments while Crosby’s liver was failing.

In January 2000, Melissa Etheridge announced that Crosby was the biological father of two children Julie Cypher had given birth to by means of artificial insemination. At the time, Etheridge and Cypher were in a relationship.

#Quote
1[observation, 2016, about whether he considers his legacy] No. I should, I guess, and I expect most people do, but I don't. I don't think about the past, I don't think about awards, I don't rest on my laurels, I don't think about any of that stuff. I think about what I'm supposed to do today and what I need to do tomorrow and what I may be able to do next week and what I need to do this coming year. My focus is almost entirely 100-per-cent forward.
2We don't take show business or the spotlight seriously.
3My songs emerge from my life, or wherever they do, unbidden and unplanned and completely on a schedule of their own. I can't legislate a song into being, it just will not happen for me.
