Two brothers operated the Black Mafia Family, one of America’s most notorious drug cartels, for more than ten years.
Before establishing cocaine distribution operations across the country, Demetrius Flenory, also known as Big Meech, and his younger brother Terry, better known as Southwest T, first sold cocaine in their high school.
Big Meech and his brother Terry founded a sizable criminal gang that controlled the delivery of kilograms of cocaine across many states.
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, California, Missouri, Ohio, North Carolina, and Tennessee were among the states that fell under this category.
But in 2091, the brothers had a fight, and Terry left to start his own business in Los Angeles. The two were found guilty in 2008 of conducting one of the biggest drug trafficking and money laundering operations in Michigan history, and they were sentenced to 30 years in jail.
However, following the adoption of Amendments 782 and 788 to the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which revised all drug offences committed prior to November 2014, Big Meech is scheduled for an early release in 2028.
Big Meech was also spotted performing altruistic deeds in October 2021 to aid in obtaining an early release.
Where Is Big Meech Now?
When Big Meech and Terry were detained by the Narcotics Enforcement Agency in 2005, their drug network came to an end.
Two counts of intent to distribute more than 5 kg of cocaine, possession of more than 500 kg of cocaine with intent to distribute, operating a criminal enterprise, and another charge of conspiracy for the same was brought against both brothers.
Several residences, millions of money, and dozens of vehicles were taken, and some of their hundreds of associates were also detained.
In 2007, the two admitted to running an ongoing illegal operation.
While Big Meech remains imprisoned at USP Lompoc in California as of May 2020, Terry was freed on house arrest.
